Trials are coming back!

Judge Ruiz is ready to go.  He's picking a pilot jury this week...

Love that trials are resuming, but a bit tone deaf in calling things "post pandemic" at this point in time.

Great picture. Very excited that trials are coming back. Curious to know how many other federal courts are starting back up with trials.

People still dying. But I guess because you aren't impacted it's not happening.

Refreshing to see an Article III judge not taking himself too seriously.

Very happy that trials are coming back. As the saying goes, “justice delayed is justice denied.”

Do you have an example of justice being denied over the last year?

I would suggest reviewing the many denials of compassionate release motions and consider what Johnny Cash had to say:

"I wear the black for the poor and the beaten down,
Livin' in the hopeless, hungry side of town,
I wear it for the prisoner who has long paid for his crime,
But is there because he's a victim of the times."

Enjoy Red Mass and think on that.

Good to see we're finding our way back and a trial judge is happy to do his job - trying cases!
