BREAKING -- Judge Charles Wilson gives notice that he is taking senior status

He sent the letter to President Biden today and will be taking senior status effective 12/31.  That means President Biden will have the opportunity to nominate someone for that seat.

A huge shout out to Judge Wilson, who has been one of our wonderful judges on the 11th.  Always prepared for oral argument and not afraid to take the difficult position if that's what the law requires.  Onward!

Biden should reach across the aisle and name a conservative. Time for the country to heal.

It's within 3.9 years of a new election when a democrat is president, thus under well established precedent the senate will not act on any judicial nominee. DUh.

Probably a funny comment on your blog but rather dumb over here where the lawyers actually have to practice in front of these judges. Rumphole if you’re so knowledgeable and connected, get Schumer to move on our three bipartisan USDC nominees who he skipped over yesterday.

You're welcome

Any rumors or speculation on who might replace Judge Wilson?

My FedSoc friends tell me there is going to be a big push for Henry B. Brown. The only problem is his association with Harvard, which is now seen as problematic in some circles. Other than that, they think he is a sure thing and will be one of the stronger members of the court. They seemed super excited at the prospect.

I nominate David Markus

Odd. I wonder why my earlier comment with a link to a Supreme Court Amicus brief was deleted? The comment wasn't nasty or mean spirited and it included a copy and paste to link to a brief directly on the Supreme Court's website (not exactly a shady link).
