I hope everyone has recovered from the Miami's heartbreaking loss in the national title game (or, at least, the Hurricane fans out there). Still a great season, and I foresee the Hurricanes clocking in at #1 in the prestigious SDFLA Blog 2026 Pre-season Poll.*
Separately, sharing Judge Altman's review of Yonatan Green's book "Rogue Justice: The Rise of Judicial Supremacy in Israel." In the review, Altman highlights the sweeping power of the Israeli Supreme Court and, in particular, its relatively unconstrained power of judicial review.
*Prediction will hinge on the Hurricanes landing Duke QB Darian Mensah in the transfer portal (Duke is trying to stop that).

Altman is everywhere these days. When is he going to settle the Greenland contretemps?
Perhaps he’d like to opine on our constitutional crisis?
We're so blessed to have our own Netanyahu right here in Miami.
If only he was as expeditious with docketing orders in cases for his actual, full-time job....
There was a time when this blog covered notable SDFL news and significant opinions, not Altman's incessant self-promotion and ego. It's insufferable.
DOM still does.
I find Altman to be hard working with a great staff and 98% of my easier motions are quickly addressed and he brings lawyers to court to argue motions more than his colleagues which gives us a chance to do our jobs and advocate for our clients instead of just getting an order with no hearing.
I’m enjoying Rumpole gaslighting and leaving his blog to defend Altman. It’s entertaining. And you must not have that many federal cases down here because most judges in the district bring people in on motions all the time. Ruiz, Becerra, Bloom, just to name a few.
How about Martinez?
You have to understand that Rumpole mainly does traffic tickets.
