Below is the list for District Judge.  They also have set interviews for U.S. Attorney.  Good luck to all.

Sound and fury signifying nothing.

Yes your hot take did just that.

Is the misalignment them or you, David? The lower part of the list is being pulled to the right -- ironic.

Bruce Brown and Michael Caruso are on at the exact same time. Should be interesting! And why does Miesha Darrough get only 20 minutes when everyone else gets 30? (except Brown and Caruso who share 30)

What’s the deal with Will Thomas ? He deserves the spot. But the same Marco issues appear to remain.

I thought 21 applied. Who didn’t get an interview?

Tania Galloni and Sowmya Bharathi appear to be the best here. I can't get a sense of the background and viewpoints of some of the county judges though, except for William Thomas. The magistrate judges were all former AUSAs and should not be considered, as AUSAs and corporate attorneys are extremely overrepresented on the federal bench.

I would have strongly supported William Thomas in 2011-2013, but he's too old now. Still he's far better than any AUSA or corporate attorney. District judges ideally should be under 50 with public interest or non white collar criminal defense backgrounds, and selection should be tilted toward those who could be potentially be elevated to the 11th Circuit in the next decade.

Also I think Durbin plans on overriding blue slips for minority nominees in the South, so I suspect that Rubio and Scott won't be getting a veto this time for judges like William Thomas.

So cute seeing the House representatives playing Senator dress-up.

I'm surprised that Osvaldo "Oz" Vazquez didn't apply. He has great credentials (on Harvard Law review) background, both as a public interest attorney and as an assistant solicitor general for a very conservative attorney general of Florida. And he is a Democrat having run and lost for Congress.

The corrected times for the interviews can be found here. https://wassermanschultz.house.gov/jnc/notices-and-announcements.htm

Yeah why keep the Mags and former AUSAs out, because now most of them are MINORITIES??

Short times are kiss of death...

Was it me or did they come after Bruce Brown (for USDC) and Matt Gates (for USA) hard?
