National Law Journal on South Florida blogs

Julie Kay has this piece on local legal blogs, which includes a shout-out to the SDFLA blog.

The story focuses on the JAABlog and also discusses Rumpole (who just celebrated his 2 year blog b-day) and the new South Florida Lawyers blog. When this blog started almost 2 1/2 years ago, there weren't any other local blogs to read. Now, these three blogs are all on my daily reading list. They are all really good. I especially enjoy the Justice Building Blog by Rumpole; I think he should start an anonymous blog about the federal courts...

If I know where to find the chicharons, I am THE REAL COMMODORE. If you would like, I am willing to grant you the commission of Admiral.

I take it back:

You be the real commodore, I will be the admiral:

"Commodore is a military rank used in some navies for officers whose position exceeds that of a captain, but is less than that of an admiral. It is sometimes abbreviated as Cdre or COMO."

Now, go get me a cafe con leche and some cheezy poofs

A real Commodore would have his portrait hanging on the wall of the Yacht Club.

New York office of WilmerHale announced bonuses yesterday.

Thanks for the kind words but I think I'll pass. That's all I need- to have Judge Moreno send the federal marshalls after me. Actually several of my earliest posts were about federal court- the secret dockets and cases, and the case where Bennett Brummer was sued and Judge Cooke issued a scathing order denying Brummer's motion for summary judgment.

When addressing Rumpole with any intent to berate, you shall from hence forth call him only "Mr. Lord Admiral Rumpole."
