Informants in the Liberty City 7 case

Bob Norman of the New Times has this interesting piece about the informants from the Liberty City 7 case. He argues that the jury is not hearing enough of the informants' background. Here's the intro:

One extorted $7,000 from a friend who raped his girlfriend and then, after accepting the money, beat her up and went to jail.
The other failed an FBI polygraph test while working on an undercover investigation, which one former FBI agent says should have disqualified him from ever working for the government again. Oh, and he was also once charged with roughing up a woman.
And these are supposed to be the good guys.

Come on Markus, where is your cultural sensitivity?

That isn't impeachment information.

Back where they come from, she would have gotten 50 lashes (or worse) for being touched by a man she is not married to.

Markus,

Are you going to run for State PD or throw your support behind Barzee?

Come on- write something already. You and Barzee going to take over the PD's office? You guys win, and I'll join you, sans Rumpole mask.

Is that an endorsement?

Fake Admiral says . . .

If Markus and Barzee do not run, I throw my support behind the Commodore.

There would be a mutiny. The Commodore would need some crew and some enforcers. I can think of one big gorilla he would name as his assistant.

I hereby formaly endorse the Markus/Barzee- Barzee/Markus ticket for Public Defender. Upon their election, I will appear in the lobby of the PD's office at 12 Noon on their first day in office wearing a Rumpole mask, and where thereupon strip naked, removing the Rumpole mask last, to the delight of all the women employees of the PDs office.
