I can't believe that Guy went out on a limb like that.
What we pay judges now is definitely not getting us the best and the brightest. For that matter, we haven't been getting the best and brightest for a long, long time. But does that have to do with money? And should it? What ever happened to the reward of public service? That, plus a buck sixty-five, plus benefits and life tenure should be plenty. And if it isn't, maybe they should just return to private practice where the riches will follow -- if they are the best and brightest.
didn't guy lewis leave public service to make a shit load of money in the private sector?
Guy Lewis left public service because he was forced out when Bush replaced him as US Attorney, then would not appoint him to a judgeship.
Speaking of judges, does anyone know who the members of the Fort Lauderdale magistrate judge selection panel are? They don't appear to be listed on the court's website
