All reports (here is Jay Weaver's Herald article from Saturday and Julie Kay has a piece in Monday's Daily Business Review) are that Alex Acosta has lost the interim from his title and is now the permanent U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Florida, the best and busiest district in the country. Welcome Mr. Acosta and congratulations.
I'm thinking of posting my requests for the new administration. If you have any suggestions, put them in the comment section and I'll add them to the list.

congratulations to mr. acosta on his apparently imminent nomination to the united states attorney's position. while we are confident that he will do a great job, we should also take a moment to recognize tom mulvihill and ed nucci and thank them for their outstanding service to country and community throughout their long and distinguished careers with the department of justice. both tom and ed have successfully prosecuted many difficult and important cases, and their skill and professionalism are unquestionable - just ask mr. moya, mr. mendez, and mr. humberto hernandez, to name only a few. so, as we congratulate mr. acosta and wish him well, let's not forget to thank mr. mulvihill and mr. nucci for a job well done (and hopefully, for all they will still do for us in the future).
This Administration clearly has big things in mind for young Mr. Acosta, so no real surprise that he got the official USAO gig. But can anybody explain the timing to me? Why now? Why the long delay? Forgive me for thinking that EVERYTHING this Administration does is driven by politics, but is it possible that they wait to leak the appointment of a Cuban-American wunderkind to a high government post during the same week that hundreds of thousands of people of Latin descent are protesting in the streets? Coincedence or not a coincedence?
