But according to multiple sources, he has instructed the office to remove the word "interim" from pleadings.
In fact, you can see his signature block on this notice dropping the prosecution against Trump co-defendants in the documents case:
Jay Weaver has more details about that dismissal here.JUST IN: The Justice Department is moving to drop special counsel Jack Smith's case against Trump allies Walt Nauta and Carlos DeOliveira, the last vestiges of Smith's Trump cases. pic.twitter.com/4IKJoJ6KuU

Is he putting up a photo of himself in the 8th floor USAtty suite alongside his 'predecessors,' such as Marc Jimenez or Stanley Marcus? Maybe one of those temporary sticky photos you get from Costco along with your $1.50 hot dog.
Or better yet, maybe Hayden, who was hired by the then US Atty over the objections of career supervisors, can tell Mike Davis, to tell Maurice Johnson, to escort some more dedicated public servants out of the building without their personal stuff. Then they could put up some sticky notes in the elevators letting the public know he's the new 'actual' US Atty, to remove any doubt.
As they pass Judge's Marcus's photo, let alone the others, for every day they go to the King Building, they should hold their heads low in shame for how they treated one of his former clerks, who is a kind and gentle soul and who they well know deserved better. He was assigned to that case as a junior member of the team in a local counsel capacity. And Mike and Maurice should personally ask forgiveness for what they did, and then not return. There is an Eagle on that wall alongside those other photos, but they do not deserve to be in its presence. Que verguenza sin cara.
Off topic, I know, but here is an opinion of the 11th Circuit issued today and authored by Judge Cannon sitting by designation, joined by Judge Lagoa, and with Judge Jordan dissenting. It's a south Florida special and a likely preview of the near future. https://media.ca11.uscourts.gov/opinions/pub/files/202211207.pdf
The fact that President Trump's favorite District Court Judge is effectively deporting a legal resident with a colorable claim to citizenship is just a coincidence.
Thank god it is Jamacia. Imagine the horrors when we dump guys like this in uncivilized nations where the dumpee does not speak the language.
While I don't love the result or what it may portend, to be fair - I think the majority got it right in that Turner case, after a thorough (if not pedantic) analysis of the present-perfect tense in English.
I am not suggesting that Judge Cannon got it wrong (or right). This isn't exactly my field. And I'm not commenting on the underlying policy. I am just pointing out that we are likely to see a lot more of this in the future. Whether you think that's good or bad, that's up to you.
