...but this picture of Sam Rabin going into Judge Altonaga’s courtroom at the beginning of Covid popped into my head today. How funny. Now, people won’t even wear a mask to a crowded sporting event. Crazy. Here is the original post.

What about the Supreme Court's latest shadow docket travesty. Do we even have a voting rights act anymore.
Now, like then, I think this was a cheap stunt and bordered on (if not being well within) sanctionable behavior. I commented as much when this was first posted and the comment was not approved. Instead, David (as is his right - this is his blog after all) "updated" the blog post addressing "those of you who think this was over the top."
The courts are not a circus or a spectacle and should not be treated as such.
Sanctionable?1?!?!?
@4:07. You nailed it. This act was a publicity seeking stunt. Reminds me of judges wearing Halloween costumes while on the bench. Demeans the solemnity of the courts. I did a trial 40 years ago in another jurisdiction and the judge informed the male jurors that a suit and tie was required to be in his courtroom. Kudos to you for pointing this out.
Did he walk into the courtroom and address the Judge wearing that outfit? I might have paid to witness that.
