The Court's Fourth of July Extravaganza

By John R. Byrne

The SDFLA is going to party like it's 1776. In honor of our nation's 250th birthday, the Court is holding an event at the Wilkie D. This will be July 1 (Wednesday). Judge Ruiz is going to lead a discussion on the Declaration of Independence. It's going to be fun, and I hope to see many a blog reader there.

You can RSVP to: flsd_program@flsd.uscourts.gov

Great to see the Court celebrating America's 250th. And nice that we've got one our District's best giving remarks.

Let me get this straight. July 4 this year is birthday 250 for the USA. And the “fun” let’s get crazy and party activity is to go to court while a judge (no matter how much we admire this judge ) talks about the constitution ? Be still my heart. It may all be too much. Is there a less crazy activity for us older folk?

Rumpole, if you know this judge you know he’s a fun and compelling speaker who will keep it interesting before we eat, drink, and celebrate America’s birthday. As far as federal court functions go, this is one of the better ones I’ve seen in a while.

I heard even Kid Rock has decided to skip this one.

Don’t think they would let Kid Rock into the courthouse.
