I voted clerk but it is possible a Justice was wavering and it could have been on the Alito side to lock everyone down. Remember Bowers V Hardwick which was 5-4. A justice admitting changing his vote at the last minute even was the opinion was being drafted. But who knows.

It's completely irresponsible to name a young lawyer as a likely culprit. JFC.
