David, I'm on the scene at the release of Ken Jenne, there are a ton of problems here. Apparently, he is in Khakis and his wife is wearing an underwire bra. Also I hear that they only emailed about his release and did not fax. Terrible news all around
After meeting Ken Jenne, I find that he is not so bad. I have had the dubious honor of meeting more than my share of disgraced/corrupt politicians and find most of them to be alright people. They’re just humans, and like the rest of us, make mistakes. Not to say that they shouldn’t be removed from office when necessary (or worse), but I wonder whether we shouldn’t pity them instead of hating them. Remember all you ambitious attorneys out there, that could be you one day.
Ok fine, he f**ked up and went to prison. But did the convicts do it? Prosecutors, Judge, and Jury all step in to that process to safeguard against our human frailties. This is why we have a system that (purports to) spread power among many hands. People should be punished when necessary, but none of us is perfect and we should have compassion for those who have messed up.
I am not perfect, but I don't pretend to be either. I at least would like people in a position of exercising the police force to be free of criminal wrongdoing. How many prosecutors do you think have one too many and then drive? I don't want those people pointing hypocritical fingers at the rest of us.
WASHINGTON — Attorney General Michael B. Mukasey appointed a special prosecutor on Monday to investigate whether criminal charges should be brought against former Attorney General Alberto R. Gonzales and other officials in connection with the firings of nine of United States attorneys in 2006.
I understand Jenne is providing evidence to Federal law enforcement against BSO employees and contractors about funds misspent by BSO, including during the investigation. Oh well, more big inflated ego heads to roll.

The dude was SHERIFF!
How many people went to prison under his watch for White Collar Crimes?

More importantly...
DOWN GOES THE DOW! DOWN GOES THE DOW!
Looks like Bush is officially a lame duck. Could not happen at a worse time.
Now what? Given that Congress voted down the bailout, what the fuck is going to happen?
By the way DAVID, why no mention of THESE APPLES?
