Trust us...
Magistrate Judge Barry Garber recommended that the motion to suppress the confession of the FIU Professor/Cuban agent be denied and that the motion to dismiss be denied (Jay Weaver, Herald). The defense contended that government agents had promised Carlos Alvarez that if he talked to them, they would not prosecute. That promise was not enough to suppress or dismiss according to the magistrate judge. Alvarez has ten days to appeal to the district court.

Mr. 135am get a life, pathetic that you are on this blog at that hour. writing that the government won a a motion to suppress is not the same as mentioning a case in which the gov wins at trial.
i agree with 9:48 p.m. on this one - there is room for some bestiality case from wisconsin and any defense victory gets plenty of notice, but when the govt wins, it is often overlooked with a variety of excuses noted - perhaps we need a little more guest blogging from the former u.s. attorney to keep this blog fair and balanced
