It's Thornton's time, but here are my top 5 in no particular order:

    John Thornton
    Daryl E. Trawick
    Ricardo J. Bascuas
    Barry Seltzer
    Darrin Gayles

It is disconcerting, however, that more well-regarded lawyers from private practice are not taking an interest. I do not like the trend that has developed where the state-court system has become a farm for the federal bench.

Qualified group indeed. If look at experience and well roundedness, Marjorie Graham should be near the top.

Does anyone know where I can find the application for the 11th Circuit spot?

Yes, guaranteed Robin Rosenberg gets a spot b/c of the democratic connections (her parents are big Democratic fundraisers and donors). It shouldn't factor in, but it will.

Judge Bidwill is one the best judges in South Florida, state or federal. I know his conections are more Republican, but he would be great in the SDFla.

If we are basing this on merit, then Professor Bascuas should be the clear frontrunner.
