I don't know why the City of Miami Beach continues to promote Urban Beach Week. Does the economic impact outweight the apparent lack of safety and bad reputation it gives the city?
And the city of Miami Beach doesn't promote this. There are no 'official' events, there are no permits granted to anyone. People show up. There's nothing to 'cancel.' The economic impact to both city and businesses is huge. Unfortunately to the city it's a huge loss. To many of the private businesses it's a huge gain.
