Donnie Brasco

The Justice Building Blog is covering the John Connolly trial, which involves a former FBI agent in Boston (Connolly) who is accused of helping orchestrate a murder in Miami in 1982. The state tried to call the real Donnie Brasco to the stand yesterday, but he refused to testify (even in sunglasses and a hat) because he didn't want his picture taken (via Miami Herald). Is this an argument for or against cameras in the courtroom?

That is the difference between State and Federal Court. A public trial where you get to fully confront your accusers is still alive in the State of Florida.

Of course, the Herald article says he was being called as the defense...in which case...WHOOPS.

hey markus why is that when you won your trial in savannah you put it in your blog and said how great the prosecutors were, but when you just took a beating in palm beach you wrote nothing like that?

840 my point is how easy it is to be feign being complimentary to an opponent whose ass you kick but when you lose you wont be equally gracious and say the prosecutors did a great job.

would have thought that my point was obvious

Maybe because the prosecutors were not very good.
