I know this isn't a SDFLA case, but a bunch of emails came in asking if I would post about it. So here is the story:
A federal jury has found 'Scooter' Libby guilty on 4 out of 5 counts of lying to a federal grand jury and obstruction of justice. He was found not guilty of one count of making false statements to FBI agents investigating the leak of former CIA agent Valerie Plame's identity. Libby's sentencing is scheduled for June 5, 2007.

Hmm, I wonder what's next. Is it possible that we'll end up seeing a presidential pardon being handed out?
ReplyDeleteMarkus I know you had everyone observe a day of silence when the murderous ochoa brothers took a plea, but strangely libbys conviction hasnt brought out your usual self righteousness.
ReplyDeletewonder why that is?
9:39 you are an idiot and better get to work depriving people of their liberty for coming into the country with a fake passport so that the administration can tout "terrorism" statistics. You are just a cog in the wheel with no mind, no personality and no ability to express an opinion less you get fired for not touting the line.
ReplyDeleteGee, I wonder what you will tell yourself in 10 years to make it easier to go to sleep at night? Perhaps the old "I was just following orders" will be enough to settle your mind.
Keep up the good fight - jerkoff.
10:20 - You should lay off the Red Bull so early in the morning. Hopefully Scooter will get what he deserves - time in jail for being part of a opponent destruction machine operated by the worst administration in U.S. history. The descendants of James Buchanan must be among the few people in this country happy these days.
ReplyDeleteYou are all out your mind - Scooter is the willing scapegoat for the administration. The last week of Bush's term he will be pardon Scooter. Scooter is a great American!
ReplyDelete"depriving people of their liberty for coming into the country with a fake passport"
ReplyDelete10:20 - correct me if I am wrong - but that is in fact a federal crime, right - with both statutory penalties as well as penalties set forth in the guidelines??
Are you arguing that 9:39 and all other prosecutors should just engage in civil disobedience?
We are a world of laws are we not? This nation has decided that persons who attempt to come into this country with a FAKE passport should be prosecuted and sentenced to jail. Do you want your prosecutors to be refusing to uphold laws that were rightfully enacted? (sure, some prosecutors may not agree internally on this or some other issue and quit - but it seems like you asking for more than that)
"This nation has decided that persons who attempt to come into this country with a FAKE passport should be prosecuted and sentenced to jail?"
ReplyDeleteReally, when was that vote?
The Libby prosecution was the biggest crock in years. Fitzgerald knew from the outset that the leaker was Richard Armitage, but continued the investigation anyway. Even the Washington Post and a bi-partisan Senate Select Committee on Intelligence recognized that Joe Wilson was a liar when he claimed that he had been sent at the behest of the Veep's office and that he had found no evidence that Saddam was trying to purchase yellow cake from Niger.
ReplyDeleteBut of course, we had to find a crime, somewhere. The prosecution of Libby is even stupider than chasing after Clinton for lying about Monica.
so now you take issue with our democratic representational system of government?
