Interim U.S. Attorney Alex Acosta has started 2006 with a bang:
Padilla, Abramoff, and now FIU professors accused of spying for Cuba... Only in the Southern District of Florida.
Here's Jay Weaver's and Noah Bierman's article about the spy proceedings yesterday.
Is it just me, or does the need for months of "additional investigative work" before indicting the case say something about the confessions?
ReplyDeleteSounds like the FBI stole the case from Agent Gibbs from NCIS!
ReplyDeleteResponding to Jared: No, what it sounds like is they tried (or did) cooperate before getting arrested. Either that, or the agents tried to track or trace the agents they reported to.
ReplyDeleteOn a separate note -- I heard that David entered an appearance on the Rodriguez-Orejuela case. No comment?
ReplyDeleteJared -- it is strange, isn't it? I'm not sure what to make of it, except that anonymous may be on to something...
ReplyDeleteAnonymous -- yes, I represent Gilberto Rodriguez-Orejuela.
Good point. But usually a confession + cooperation = use immunity.
ReplyDeleteGreat blog.
