Congrats to Judge Artau!

 By John R. Byrne

Judge Artau was confirmed this evening as our latest United States District Judge. From what I understand, even though he's technically filling Judge Scola's seat, Judge Artau will sit in West Palm Beach (essentially replacing Judge Rosenberg, who's heading to the Federal Judicial Center). And whoever is eventually appointed to fill Judge Rosenberg's now (or soon-to-be) vacant seat will sit in Fort Lauderdale. Just as an fyi for those of you getting your applications ready!

Big congrats to Judge Artau, a great public servant and a true constitutionalist who will serve the common good.

Stugots to Politico and the drive by media, for their cheap hit job. I hope they enjoy NYT v Sullivan while it lasts.

Do we know when commission was signed or will be? When he’ll be sworn in and make it official?

As usual enters MAGA with all its class.

A solid conservative. Really old though.

Although I disliked Artau's concurring opinion in the Trump case for multiple reasons, it is generally a good thing that we are getting an additional judge. Now that he has a lifetime appointment (and will soon realize that his views on any important issue are irrelevant because the CA11 will have the final say anyway), Artau would best serve the district by putting his political views to the side, working hard, and administering justice promptly.
