Michael Hanzman
Judy Korchin
Robert Levenson
Peter Lopez
Ana Marie Martinez
Caroline Heck Miller
John O’Sullivan
Robin Rosenbaum

I'm struck by the very low number of applicants. Looks like 8 state court judges applied and 3 federal magistrates. Only two private practitioners.
I'll have more soon.

My vote is for O'Sullivan.
Mary Barzee ALL THE WAY
I thought Yolly Roberson was putting her name in mix.
weak list of state court dreck; o'sullivan by far
Bagley or Scola, given past track record
Either O'Sullivan, Rosenbaum, Scola or Seltzer.
Scola all the way. Great man, long time public servant, and incredibly intelligent. He'd be a wonderful addition to the District.
Judge O. Easy choice. Knowledgeable, fair, experienced, and tall, very, very tall.
You guys are crazy. This is Hanzman's seat. No doubt. You criminal defense lawyers have no idea how smart he is. Judge Scola is an awesome Judge and should be a federal judge too. Trust me on this one!
easy call. O'Sullivan.
Why is this for Huck's seat and not for Gold's seat? Didn't Gold announce that he'd retire first? What am I missing?
Gold may have announced first but his senior status doesn't start until January. Huck became senior in September.
Perhaps the reason why practitioners do not apply is the tediously slow process whereby any practice that you have and any firm relationship which you have deteriorate as the awesomely slow process drags along.
The only ones that can endure this process are judges -- state judges who are not facing election within a year and mags.
As to the quality of the state judges whose names appera, theer are quite a few excellent judges among them, as the lawyesr who practicve before them regulalrly know -- judges who turn out an execllent product without two law clerks and a crowd of attendants.
Take a look - some of the best federal judges we now have came from the state bench.
Does anyone proofread anymore? I counted 6 misspelled words in 9:42's last paragraph. With this kind of lack of attention to detail, no wonder it's a painfully slow process for you.
No spell check, asshole (Did I spell that correctly?)
Levenson (SEC Regional Trial Counsel) would make a great judge. I think he's got a good shot at this.
O'Sullivan is professional, even-handed, and most importantly, competent. He'd get my vote.
