My top three picks for the judge spot: (1) Caroline Heck-Miller; (2) Kathleen Williams; and (3) Patrick White. That said, I'm quite disappointed that there aren't any real notables from the civil/private sector.

As for US Atty, I think the top 3 are (1) Curt Miner; (2) Willy Ferrer and (3) David Buckner. I doubt Obama will go with someone who is already in the office.

For the many other well-qualified trial attorneys in South Florida who might be considering a change of jobs, the Federal Defender's office in Orlando is looking for two experienced trial attorneys, including one to work on capital cases. Information about the positions and how to apply (June 16 deadline) can be found at:

Richard Gregorie for U.S. Attorney????

That has to be a mistake or just a BAD joke.

I would be lying if a said I knew what the Marshal did, but Bill Berger is a good guy and would likely excel in anything he took up.

My top picks are Wilner and Nieland. Pharo has done her share for the Bush administration. Those two have worked the federal system for some time and have earned the spot. At least they didn't put in for every job in the state like the others.

Robin Rosenbaum has been a magistrate judge for... what, 17 minutes?? And Lilly Ann Sanchez...? You've got to be kidding me.

sounds like an angry AUSA...

Your top picks are wilner and nieland. you said it all when you said those two "have worked" the federal system. neither has earned anything.

Hey 4:58. Do you think that Lilly Ann Sanchez would be any nicer to you as U.S. Attorney simply because she was a defense lawyer? "Sounds like" you're crazy. She's a terror regardless of what side of the aisle you're on. As for Rosenbaum, Kathleen Williams will get the judgeship before Rosembaum would.

Wayne Tilman? do you know if that is that det. Wayne Tilman of MDPD?

Lets not discount the backgrounds, ethnicities or qualifications of anyone. I see a bunch of paper tigers.

Picking someone for US Marshal who does not know anything about the federal system would be a mistake.

I'm surprised Berger put in for Marshal. The reason there is such lack of interest is the lack of retirement or retirement benefits and the fact that you cant vest unless you get 3 appointments. I wonder if the guy did his homework?

Keep Christina Pharo as US Marshal. She has done a great job - this should be a career position - not an Administration pick.

Nieland will win marhsal.
