He doesn't seem to understand that elections are what led to Peter Adrien in the first place. The guy can pick a football team, but he sure can't think logically otherwise.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9615048.post-77309826441943405422010-11-16T12:14:49.334-05:002010-11-16T12:14:49.334-05:00"Presumption of guilt?""Presumption of guilt?"Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9615048.post-6651221205282299472010-11-15T22:02:07.057-05:002010-11-15T22:02:07.057-05:00Just about every member of the So. Also, your quote today in the Review endorsing jury nullification. You can't be serious. How would you like it if jurors acted according to their "conscience" and ignored the presumption of guilt or held the fact that a defendant didn't testify against him or her?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9615048.post-74861009466597429242010-11-15T16:24:29.812-05:002010-11-15T16:24:29.812-05:00Rumpole - EPIC FAIL!Rumpole - EPIC FAIL!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9615048.post-72365928756128334852010-11-15T14:10:56.653-05:002010-11-15T14:10:56.653-05:00why not interview the whole list of applicants? T...why not interview the whole list of applicants? There's only 16 of them. Which shows the decayed nature of our current ridiculous system. No offense to this list, because many of them are definitely merited, but current legal superstars do not apply. That is a real shame.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9615048.post-72453960611794511152010-11-15T14:09:13.367-05:002010-11-15T14:09:13.367-05:00Rump, you moron you. I would rather have merit retention for all of them but have the governor, from an approved list of responsible JQC members, appoint for an initial four year term. That would leave it possible to oust a really bad judge but avoid the spectacle of future Adriens getting robed in the first place. Not that the other system doesn't have flaws either; only that they are less dangerous than the elected system.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9615048.post-62389903307108831192010-11-15T11:18:43.202-05:002010-11-15T11:18:43.202-05:00Wasn't Adrien elected in the first place?Wasn't Adrien elected in the first place?David Oscar Markushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18386723948607633980noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9615048.post-55692368485045774502010-11-15T08:42:07.464-05:002010-11-15T08:42:07.464-05:00Judicial elections? Were it not for judicial elections Miami Dade citizens would be stuck with one of the worst, least knowledgable, rudest, and even cruel individuals to ever wear a robe. And there would be nothing to check his behavior. He acted this way knowing he would get an opponent, so presumably he was trying to modify his worst excesses in the year before the election. Imagine what he would have been without any check on his behavior.

Yes- we should still have judicial elections. Ask your buddy Milt Hirsch if he likes judicial elections. Or is he now going to become one of those Judges trying to blow up the bridge after he crossed it and want something ridiculous like merit retention.Rumpolehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08380575650255695462noreply@blogger.com
