U.S. Attorney's office to hire journalist

According to Julie Kay in today's DBR, Alex Acosta is hiring "a journalist, rather than a lawyer to handle the media." Get this -- the pay is between $77,576 and $100,845. I wonder how much longer Julie is going to be writing her column for the DBR!

What about a U.S. Attorney's office blogger?

What a waste of taxpayer money! This is ridiculous.

Yeah! Why should perhaps the single most powerful agency in South Florida (at least where little things like personal liberty are concerned) have anyone on staff whose JOB it is to answer to the public, through the press, for what that agency does?

Outrageous. Who doe these peons, er, subjects, um, er, citizens think they are?

And what's with having all those darn trials open to the public, anyway. Wouldn't it be a LOT more efficient if they were held in private?
